Our arborists prune with the tree's long-term health in mind. That means correct cuts at the branch collar, no lopping or hat-racking, and only removing what needs to go. When is the best time to prune trees on the coast?
Most trees can be pruned year round. Deadwood and storm hazards should be dealt with as soon as you notice them. For flowering and fruit trees we will advise the best timing for that species.
Is pruning better than removal?
If a tree is healthy and well placed, pruning is almost always the better option. We will tell you straight if pruning will fix the problem or if removal is the safer call.
Do you lop trees?
No. Lopping damages trees and causes weak regrowth. We use proper pruning cuts that let the tree heal.
I called Ability this morning to see if I could get a quote on the removal of two smallish trees and a palm tree. They came within half an hour, and were able to do the job straight away. 20 minutes later they were finished, and they removed all evidence of them having been there. Tidy, professional and prompt.
