Ability Tree Service removes trees of all sizes for homes, farms, businesses, strata and councils from Bulahdelah to Harrington. Our specialty is the job other crews walk away from: large, dangerous trees hanging over houses, powerlines nearby, or access so tight that felling in one piece is out of the question.
Most removals are done by climbing and sectional dismantling, where the tree is taken down piece by piece and lowered on ropes. Where a tree is too big, too dead or too close to a building to climb safely, we bring in crane assisted removal and lift sections straight out over the house.
Every job finishes the same way. Branches go through the chipper on site, logs are cut to your preference or taken away, and the area is raked and blown down. If you want the stump gone too, we grind it on the same visit.

Do I need council approval to remove a tree?
Often, yes. MidCoast Council has rules on which trees can be removed and when, and some properties carry extra environmental controls. We can point you in the right direction before work is booked and we will not remove a tree that needs approval until it has been granted.
How much does tree removal cost on the Mid North Coast?
Price depends on the size of the tree, how close it is to buildings or lines, access for our gear and whether you want the stump ground. Our quotes are free and onsite, so you get a real number rather than a guess over the phone.
Can you remove a tree hanging over my house?
Yes. This is the work we specialise in. Overhanging trees are dismantled in small, roped sections or lifted out with a crane so nothing lands on your roof.
I called Ability this morning to see if I could get a quote on the removal of two smallish trees and a palm tree. They came within half an hour, and were able to do the job straight away. 20 minutes later they were finished, and they removed all evidence of them having been there. Tidy, professional and prompt.
